Golf Carts at the Beach
Many of our Clients have commented about the Golf Carts they see riding our streets when we are showing them property. It is one of the benefits of living here at the beach. Now Golf Carts could be a more common sight on South Carolina’s roads with legislation a House panel approved this past Wednesday, despite concerns from the state’s top public safety official according to the Sun News.
The legislation expands the range that golf carts can be drive from a person’s home to five miles from two miles. Golf carts all allowed on the state’s secondary roads but can only cross primary highways and not driven on them. People enjoy using golf carts when they get to the beach and in most cases there are a lot more electric carts than gas which is also great for our environment. With the high cost of gasoline, Electric Carts are less expensive to drive around the Beach and easy to park.
You have to be licensed in order to drive a Golf Cart and one of the problems is parents allowing underage children to drive them. There are kits available for Golf Carts that can increase the speed over 20 MPH. We enjoy our Golf Cart and drive it shopping, to the Beach, Restaurants and occasionally to work. You might say it is another way to enjoy Paradise!
